Wayhome ,
London, Greater London

Overview

Job Description

Wayhome: The Mission At Wayhome we are reinventing homeownership by co-investing with people who haven't been able to buy a home yet. We're a small team of Engineers, Property Specialists, Data Scientists and Creatives, who are addressing one of the biggest and most life-changing problems our customers have: how they can get the security and freedom of homeownership for their families and for themselves. The role Our Product Development Team is based in Central London, though we are all working from home at the moment. As a startup, we value rapid cycles of TEST, LEARN and ADAPT. We are far along in establishing product-market fit for our flagship Wayhome, but we continue to develop core data, operations and customer experience architecture in the months leading up to launch. All of our product tasks are specified and prioritised via a rigorous challenge process that brings together team members from across the business. This process reflects the following about how Product works at Wayhome: * We know your time is valuable - so we aim to work only on business-critical developments. * We are focussed on smashing our OKRs - to help aspiring homeowners find their dream homes at scale. * We believe diverse inputs from various business units and individuals of differing seniority lead to the best product outcomes - if managed by a strong leader. We currently operate using a mixture of Kanban and Scrum techniques. The Chief Product Officer (CPO) runs a Jira board on 2-week 'sprints', with quick daily stand-ups and weekly, more in-depth project-based meetings. We do try our best to ensure these meetings are limited only to relevant parties. But we'd rather chat about something now than waste time and resources redoing an early implementation that is not fit-for-purpose. Reporting to the CPO, the Senior Product Manager will: * Own new products and features end-to-end through the product development process, from idea to go-live and beyond - as you collect and analyse data about your successes and failures. You will therefore will be completing canonical Product Management tasks such as: * Gathering requirements from stakeholders and synthesizing them into viable solutions. * Ensuringcomms are keptopen and transparent throughout the development, launch and iteration process. * Liaising with developers early and often in the specification process, and answering questions about tickets in the Backlog or In Progress to see them through to production. * Performing detailed, manual QA of your products and features on our development servers to ensure your specification has accounted for all use-cases - and the development team have executed against that specification flawlessly. * Identify opportunities to 'hack our OKRs' with creative product or feature development ideas. * Support the Chief Product Officer in day-to-day Project and Product Management tasks, including managing Jira workflow rules and editing wireframes for complex technical features when business needs change. As we are a goal-orientated, pre-revenue organisation, you should be comfortable with uncertainty and ambiguity. This role description may evolve quickly. What works today will not necessarily work tomorrow, especially with the new challenges posed by launch, by expanding our product suite and then by expanding our teams. We are therefore always improving our work methodology using insight gained in our fortnightly retrospectives, which are driven by the Team. The 10-person team includes: * 1 CPO * 1 Backend Technical Lead * 1 Frontend Technical Lead * 1 Lead Designer (who also does some Product Management) * 1 Frontend Developer * 1 Junior Frontend Developer * 1 Senior Backend Developer * 1 Backend Developer * 1 Content Designer/Customer Experience Expert * You! Who you are: * You have 3-5 years of experience in Product Management, preferably with some experience in small companies and/or fast-paced startups. * You have a proven history of developing complex products end-to-end, with an appreciation for both the statistical significance of experimental results and the business need to 'play to win'. * You learn quickly, are highly adaptable and could onboard to near-full productive capacity within a few weeks. * You seek out difficult problems and enjoy synthesising disparate inputs into a single product solution - then selling that solution, internally and externally. * You know how to keep a lot of plates spinning. In fact, you feel bored if you're not juggling tasks. * You know how to be a team player and also how to speak up when you identify a problem. You choose your battles wisely and don't die on inconsequential hills. The skills you have: * Highly proficient with industry-standard Product Development and Product Management management tools, including: * Jira and Confluence * Slack * Your wireframing tool-of-choice (Figma, Sketch, Omnigraffle, Balsamiq, ...) * Able to quickly and precisely define the primary use-cases and edge cases for a
