Based in the West of Scotland Science Park in Glasgow, we are a subsidiary of Coherent Inc., a global leader in the manufacture of laser products. About the role As a result of this continued growth we have an opportunity for an Assistant Accountant working within our Finance Team. Self-motivated, with a 'can do' attitude, you'll have the drive to develop your knowledge and skills quickly in order to make a difference and be able to collaborate effectively as part of a small team. As this is a busy role, it is essential that along with a meticulous and organised approach, you have the ability to prioritise tasks and manage your workload effectively. Responsibilities * Completing month end financial accounting routines and corporate reporting schedules. * Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations. * Process Payroll information in a timely manner for submission to external bureau. * Execute weekly domestic and foreign payment runs. * Execute monthly intercompany netting/settlements. * Complete Intercompany & Bank reconciliations (multi-currency). * Complete monthly VAT and Intrastat returns. * Process Accounts payable invoices when required. * Ensure SOX compliance. * Liaise with external auditors as required * Back up for Accounts Assistant.
