Data and Analytics Transformation Directorate (DAT) Successfully achieving the Bank's mission depends crucially on our use of data and analytics, through their role in informing the Bank's decisions, its operations, and the information it provides to the public. The Bank is now committed to designing and delivering a world class data and regtech strategy. A new Directorate (DAT) has been created to lead and coordinate this, comprising of three divisions: Data and Statistics Division (DSD); Data Strategy Implementation Division (DSID); and Advanced Analytics Division (AA) DSD is the Bank's centre of expertise for the collection, compilation, dissemination and publication of regulatory and statistical data, promoting innovation and quality to support analysis, policy and decision making by the Bank's Committees, UK government departments and international organisations. Data are collected from banks and buildings societies, credit unions, insurance companies and regulated mortgage lenders and administrators. This takes place via 35 statistical collections and over 200 regulatory collections. We cleanse a sizeable proportion of these datasets and publish a large number of statistical data via our interactive database. We support MPC, FPC and PRC and our data are used in the Inflation Report, Financial Stability Report, Credit Conditions Review, Stress Test Results, FPC Core Indicators and Quarterly Bulletin. Job description The Division is seeking to appoint a Senior Manager to lead the Data Services Group (DSG). DSG is made up of about 20 members of staff engaged in implementing and running a range of data related processes to support the mission of the Bank. The group is also responsible for the electronic publication and local administration for DSD. As senior manager you will oversee the following: Introduction of completely new data services: Examples in recent years of new services that have been added include the data collection for SONIA. Adding new clients to an existing service: Services such as the BEEDS strategic data collection system are continually expanding with new collections being added. Each collection needs to be configured on the system with new data providers needing to be 'on boarded' onto the system. Currently the group is working on adding Stress Testing to the BEEDS platform and has implemented a new collection to support the Bank's Term Funding Scheme. Daily operational running of the Data processes: The team supports a range of processes that run from daily collection to quarterly collections. The normal operating hours of the group extend from 6:00 am until 20:30pm which requires the implementation of a rota system in order to cover the extended operational day. You will be required to set strategic focus for the team, drive their results and provide challenge. You will invest in team members and act as a role model. The Division's philosophy supports a culture of self-management and you will be expected to adopt these principles and seek to enhance self-management practices in DSG. The group has traditionally been an entry point to the Bank and an important element of the role is developing staff who go on to work elsewhere in DSD or the wider Bank. As a senior member of both DSD and DAT, you will be expected to participate fully in and contribute to the leadership of the Division; and where appropriate, the Directorate. In particular, you will: * Manage effectively DSG's budget and collaborate with your senior manager peers in the management of the Division's budget; * Fully engage in the management of DSD's budget; * Support the delivery of and be an advocate for DSD's strategy and strategic direction. In addition, you will be the business owner of the Bank's strategic data collection systems, currently BEEDS and Data Collection light. Job Requirements * Demonstrated ability to lead a team with a varied work portfolio, delivering high quality output on schedule and able to work to tight deadlines during busy periods; * Experience of continually reviewing processes and implementing efficiency gains; * Experience of / an ability to influence key stakeholders with a track record of delivering results through building and maintaining strong working relationships; * Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral as the job will involve representation with major external institutions; * Line management skills, including ability to coach and support the development of staff; * A good understanding of Technology as strong collaboration with colleagues within Technology is desirable although not essent
