Base: Firvale - Programmed Health Unit for Children and Young People Two exciting opportunities have arisen to join our friendly & dynamic team at Firvale. Firvale is a joint funded (Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust & Hampshire County Council) programmed care unit that provides overnight and short breaks for children and young people with complex health needs and learning disabilities. Due to the recent significant increase in children accessing our short breaks service we are expanding our staffing establishment. Firvale provides nine bedrooms for planned health & social care short breaks within a homely environment. You would be a staff nurse working in the four bedded health unit focusing on delivering high quality clinical care for children with complex health needs and associated disabilities. This challenging and rewarding role offers the opportunity to meet the health and social care needs of children, young people and their families within a multidisciplinary inter agency framework. We are looking for enthusiastic forward thinking Paediatric nurses or Learning Disability nurses with some acute and ideally community experience, keen to develop their skills working with staff, families, children and young people with a wide variety of complex health conditions. You will be a highly motivated independent practitioner with sound evidence based skills. Firvale is located in Basingstoke, one mile from Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital. You will have the opportunity to work closely with our well established Integrated Community Children's Service including Community Children's Nursing Teams, our special school nursing teams and the wider child health multi-disciplinary team. We will offer you clinical supervision, regular appraisal, training and support in achieving your personal development plan as well as peer support from colleagues in similar roles.
