HERITAGE Alsford Timber started out as a family-owned business in 1882 selling firewood in North London. Demand for quality timber grew, and by 1891 we had developed into a fully-fledged timber merchant with 6 yards on the outskirts of London. With the expansion of our company and the services we offered came an increase in business, and most importantly, valued customers. GROWTH The business grew over the next 100 years, with new branches opening up across the South-East of England. As our estate grew, so did our product offering, which extended to reflect our customer needs. Overall Objective A Senior Sales Co-ordinator will participate in the effective and efficient running of a Branch. This will involve maintaining the best level of sales and service to both new and existing customers. In particular, the job holder will be maximising the sales and margin potential of the branch in line with the agreed business objectives. The Senior Sales Co-ordinator will be able to manage any new challenges presented by such a product mix. To help sales representatives improve their productivity and spend more time selling, Senior Sales Co-ordinator will provide a variety of support services. They contact customers and prospects to arrange appointments or make follow-up calls to confirm orders or delivery dates. They ensure that representatives have sufficient quantities of sales product, such as product fencing, blocks, bricks, etc. The Senior Sales Co-ordinator also act as a first point of contact for urgent calls, emails and messages when Sales Co-ordinators are not available. Main Roles & Responsibilities * A Senior Sales Co-ordinator will be expected to perform any of the following tasks: * Contribute to customer satisfaction by ensuring the accuracy and timely processing of orders. * Assist the Manager in delivering the budgeted sales and margin targets as a minimum. * Support the Manager in controlling the stock at agreed levels and ensuring that the core range is always available. * Assist the Manager in delivering the agreed debt collection targets as a minimum. * Ensure customer service is delivered to a consistently high standard. * Ensure branch presentational standards are maintained to a consistently high standard. * Ensure Health & Safety policy is fully observed. * Assist the Manager in reducing costs within the business. * Collaboration with other departments is an important responsibility * To ensure that sales and marketing activities are integrated, they work closely with marketing * Other reasonable duties as arising, as specified by the Branch Manager. Job Specific Skills * Customer Focused * Great communication skills especially telephone work * Product Knowledge * Team Player * IT PC Literate * Commercially aware * Sales Experience * Knowledge of the industry * Be able to plan, organise, administer and prioritise time effectively * Health & Safety knowledge * Driving licence Education/Qualifications/Experience: Must have a good level of education e.g. Diploma, City & Guilds, NVQ, and/or equivalent qualification as appropriate for the role. A background in this industry with at least 2-4 years' experience in sales and be a confident decision maker. Be experienced to deliver an effective and professional service as well as build strong trust and understanding with customer and suppliers.
