Job Description

An exciting new post has been created to provide support for the introduction and running of the Medical Examiner System at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital. The Medical Examiner System will provide closer scrutiny of all deaths and is being rolled out nationally. The post-holder will be Royal Devon and Exeter Medical Examiner service and report to the Lead Medical Examiner and the Senior Medical Examiner Officer. In your role you will work with medical examiners to develop and launch the Medical Examiner system. You will provide Medical Examiners with advice, information, guidance and support in relation to the administrative duties and legal requirements following the death of a patient. We are looking to recruit an individual who will be enthusiastic about being part of a new and evolving process and confident to work independently and using their own initiative. The individual will need to be organised and able to prioritise their workload to ensure that the process is completed in a timely manner. Excellent verbal and written communication skills will be vital along with the enjoyment of building relationships with all levels of staff both within the Trust and from other organisations.
