Department Profile : One of the largest divisions in the Firm, Operations is the first line of defence for Morgan Stanley's financial and reputational well-being and essential in delivering value. Operations is responsible for correctly settling and recording millions of transactions per day, identifying and mitigating operational risk, developing strong client relationships and partnering with technology to realize the full potential of IT and Automation. Team Profile: The Financing and Collateral Operations department is responsible for supporting the trading activities of the Stock Loan and Secured Funding business units, with teams in 7 global locations comprising over 250 employees. The team have daily interaction with the trading desk and are required to liaise with operational colleagues across a range of disciplines to ensure the timely and accurate execution and collateralisation of trades, providing an opportunity to develop a strong network across firm Due to the upcoming introduction of the Secured Financing Transaction Regulation (SFTR) transaction reporting requirement, an exciting opportunity has arisen to join the department and be involved in the implementation and ongoing management of a high-profile, industry wide change regulatory initiative. Primary Responsibilities: The Director role will form part of the broader Financing and Collateral Operations management team, thee primary responsibilities will include: - Help to shape and execute the strategic agenda for Financing and Collateral Operations in EMEA - Participating in project readiness tasks to ensure the firm is able to meet the upcoming regulatory reporting requirements - Oversee controls to ensure the complete, accurate and timely submission of transaction reporting requirements - Monitor KRI and KPI thresholds to ensure the team is maintaining risk and performance standards - Work with the vendor to ensure comprehensive controls are in place and complete procedure reviews/enhance the control environment - Ensure all Written Supervisory Procedures, Process Maps and System access requirements are up to date. - Involvement in BCP transference testing and ensuring knowledge dilution in Glasgow is minimised - Working with key stakeholders to identify and create efficiencies in daily processes. - Provide operations support for IT developments Skills required (essential ): Middle Office is a busy role therefore essential the successful candidate can add immediate benefit. Previous experience of Securities Financing industry is not essential but preferred. The role will provide a number of opportunities to work stakeholders across the organisation so a proven track record in relationship management is required as is experience of managing process, risk and controls.
