Job Description

GCH is an independent housing association providing excellent housing management services to over 5,200 tenants and 260 leaseholders in Gloucester and the surrounding areas. To ensure our 4500 properties continue to provide warm, safe and welcoming homes for our tenants, GCH has recently launched a new 5-year programme of investment. The investment activities will be over seen by the Asset and Development Team who are responsible for delivering safe, high quality projects, on-time, to budget that achieve high-levels of customer satisfaction. GCH has a new vacancy for a Surveyor who will successfully lead and deliver some of these projects as part of a team of 8. As well as being technically minded, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a successful track record of delivering planned improvement projects and a desire to contribute positively to the wider team and culture of GCH. Playing a key role in contributing to the development and delivery of the Asset Management Strategy; delivering a broad range of planned improvements, our Surveyor will ensure effective budgetary control and efficiencies within the organisation, securing value for money for the company. Further to this you will determine contract terms and oversee the delivery of large scale and high profile contracts to ensure all building work undertaken is in line with government and company policies and standards. Our ideal candidate will have a professional understanding, knowledge and experience of housing property investment, surveying or architecture, together with a relevant housing qualification, e.g. ICW, Intermediate RICS, CIOB, HND. You'll have a working knowledge of Building Regulations, CDM Regulations, Health & Safety legislation and Risk Management / Assessment. With a proven track record of delivering large planned maintenance contracts, managing resources, budgets and contracts, you'll have the ability to identify and eliminate risks, ensuring value for money and the delivery of high quality services.
