As Senior Nuclear Safety Advisor you will be responsible for providing specialist knowledge and support relating to nuclear and radiological safety including the Management of the Safety Case and support of the SSHEQ assurance function. To develop and manage the safety case for Tradebe Inutec's facilities, ensuring that current operations are within the scope of the safety case and changes are adequately controlled and scrutinised. Collaborate, mentor and upskill team members in the SHE areas including Safe Systems of Work. Maintain and promote high personal standards in environment, safety, health, security and quality. What we offer An extremely competitive salary + up to 15% of salary as an annual bonus, Individual Healthcare, Pension, 33 days holiday (inc BH) Laptop, Mobile phone Your role * Act as 'Design Authority' for the Safety Case by having in depth knowledge of the safety case and how it is evolving, and hence the capability to deal with internal and external stakeholders on safety case matters * Develop Land Quality Management Arrangements and Long Term Environmental Safety documents required for the EPR permit. * Demonstrate the capability to deal with internal and external stakeholders on all safety case matters * Maintain and develop the safety case documentation, categorising, structuring and scrutinising it, in accordance with internal procedures * Ensure that any proposed modifications or experiments which relate to the operational plant are documented, categorised, scrutinised and approved, in accordance with internal procedures * Support the preparation of safety and environmental assessments, including those which enable new operations and waste disposal routes * Collaborate with the SHEQ Manager, regarding the records on radioactive material, nuclear material and fissile material inventories and monitoring compliance with safety case and regulatory limits * Ensure that the Site Manager, SHEQ Manager and SSHEQ Director are aware of changes to the safety case before they are involved in the Authority to Proceed process * Work with the project and operations teams on safety documents such as radiological risk assessments, general risk assessments, method statements and Work Instructions * Facilitate the review and approval of such documents and to help steer the documents through the route to approval * Review the effectiveness of SSOW for all users and develop them as required * To develop new systems for work control, SSOW and safety monitoring as required * Assist with investigations into unusual occurrences. * Support the organisational change control process, including risk assessment and implementation planning * Assurance support to the preparation of annual reviews of safety and environmental performance, including assessment of organisational resilience * Support the SSHEQ Assurance function at Inutec Ltd * Maintain and develop the company procedures relating to the safety case and related topics * Flexibility to provide SHE support when and as required. Desirable skills * Full, clean driving licence * A recognised professional qualification in occupational safety, such as NEBOSH certificate. * Nuclear Safety Case experience * Substantial experience in a similar or related position in a Nuclear Licenced Site * Experience dealing with public authorities and managing crisis situations/emergency response * A degree or equivalent level of education, in science, engineering, risk or a related subject * Appropriate security clearance Why join us?
