Job Description

Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust Clinical Fellow in Imaging and Nuclear Medicine FY2 level or above Applications are invited from qualified medical practitioners at FY2 level or above who can demonstrate an interest in Clinical Imaging and Nuclear Medicine. This is a replacement post, commencing as soon as possible from 1st July 2020 for 6 months initially with possible extension to 1 year, may also provide sub-speciality training in the different aspects of Nuclear Medicine. The post holder will be based at the Nuclear Medicine Department at the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton and as per need at the BSMS Clinical Imaging Sciences Centre with occasional visits to the Princess Royal Hospital. The post holder will provide clinical cover in accordance with their level of clinical competency. The Department of Nuclear Medicine is within the Department of Imaging & Nuclear Medicine. There is a co-ordinated Nuclear Medicine service to the whole Trust. The Nuclear Medicine service is provided on three sites: The Royal Sussex County Hospital (RSCH), Princess Royal Hospital (PRH), Haywards Heath and the Clinical Imaging Science Centre (CISC) located at the Falmer Campus. Nuclear Medicine at the RSCH has the benefit of three gamma cameras including a SPECT-CT camera and a Radio-pharmacy. The department at the PRH also has the benefit of a SPECT-CT camera. The PET-CT service was established in June 2004, on behalf of the Sussex Cancer Network. The service is based at a fixed unit at the Clinical Imaging Science Centre (CISC) located on the Falmer University Campus. The post holder will also have the opportunity to contribute to departmental research & audit projects, particularly in relation to the active and dynamic functional molecular imaging and multi modality research conducted in the department. This post may provide excellent experience, training or sub-specialised training in Clinical Nuclear Medicine and Imaging and would especially suit someone aiming for a career in Nuclear Medicine and Radiology, but also Oncology or Cardiology.
