Job Description

The role We have an exciting opportunity for a Support Worker within a new supported living scheme to provide outstanding levels of integrated, person centred care that meets the needs, aspirations and ambitions of the people we support. This new supported living scheme has been developed by ourselves and brings a modern, fresh and vibrant atmosphere. It will be opening in November and our aim is to fully induct all successful candidates by this time so you can support residents on their journey from the moment they move in to their new home! Being a Support Worker means that you play a vital role in making a difference to people's lives by supporting them to lead an active, enjoyable and independent life. Duties will include: * Providing every opportunity for physical, mental and emotional wellbeing * Providing safe, effective and dignified personal care and support services * Supporting and encouraging the people we support to set and achieve personal goals and aspirations * Ensuring the people we support are able to maintain their tenancy and live in a safe environment * Carrying out regular checks on the scheme with special reference to fire prevention and security The ideal candidate We are looking for people who are passionate about supporting older people and/or people with a learning difficulties/impairments to live a fulfilling and independent life. You will have good communication skills and excellent attention to detail. You will need to have a flexible approach to the working hours (7am to 10pm) to meet the individual needs of the people we support, however we recognise that a work life balance is important so you will have one main place of work and you will be provided with a rolling rota that will be prepared well in advance. Experience of working within a caring/supporting environment is preferred but not essential as you will be provided with all of the training required. Qualifications Have or willing to work towards Health & Social Care Diploma (Level 2) Benefits In return for your hard work and commitment we will provide you with: * 28 days annual leave * 1 month full company sick pay followed by 1 month half company sick pay (with 3 unpaid waiting days) * Guaranteed contracted hours * Full induction including free training and paid shadowing * Pension (employer contributions from 4% - 8%) * An enhanced DBS check for each successful candidate (paid for by emh care & support) * Average holiday pay * Dedicated Team Leaders and Registered Manager About us emh care & support focus on putting people first.
