Job Description
My Clients are a Nursing Home situated on the beautiful seafront of Dawlish who are currently looking to recruit an experienced Kitchen Assistant to join the team. Job profile Under the direction of the Cook, the kitchen assistant helps with the preparation of meals for service users. The kitchen assistant ensures that a high standard of food preparation is maintained and that kitchen equipment is cleaned and stored hygienically and to the highest standard. Additionally, the kitchen assistant is responsible for ensuring that the kitchen and associated areas are clean and tidy in line with Health and Safety at Work legislation Main Duties * Ensuring that kitchen equipment, eg. crockery, cutlery, pots and pans, is washed and dried thoroughly and hygienically in line with health and safety procedures * To ensure that a good standard of hygiene and cleanliness be maintained throughout the kitchen and dining room, as set down by Health and Hygiene regulations * Together with the Cook, ensure that a high standard of food preparation is maintained * To ensure that the kitchen and associated areas fully conform to Health and Safety requirements * To ensure all equipment used is well maintained and in good working order and to report any defects to the Cook as required. * Under the direction of the Cook, to assist in all kitchen tasks associated with the preparation, cooking and presentation of meals and beverages to the highest standard * When required, to be responsible for the preparation and cooking of light supper meals for residents. * To carry out general kitchen and dining room duties as necessary, such as setting tables and serving meals * When required, to be responsible for serving snacks and beverages to service users at appointed times * Any other duties which you might reasonably be expected to perform.
