We are looking for an Electrical Maintenance Technician to provide a high level of electrical expertise as part of a small multi-disciplinary building and factory services team, assisting the maintenance management team in delivering a customer focussed, cost-effective and efficient service. You will be expected to complete project activities, to improve and maintain the site infrastructure through direct installation and commissioning of electrical systems, as well as supervising the work of electrical contractors. You will carry out electrical duties including, fault finding, repairs and alterations, conducting regular testing of electrical systems, equipment and components, ensuring systems are safe at all times. In addition to this, you will complete scheduled planned maintenance activities, minor repairs and alterations allocated to you to required standards and within required response times, and update/modify drawings for any alterations made to the site services infrastructure. As part of this role, you will provide maintenance assistance to other work colleagues when required and will attend or advise, on rota, out-of-hours emergencies. Your compliance with site health, safety and environmental working practices is essential for this role at all times, taking due care for your personal safety and the safety of work colleagues, contractors and site visitors. You will therefore ensure site housekeeping standards are maintained at all times and that a record of all personal activities are promptly filed in the facility services management information system in a timely effective manner. In order to succeed in this role you will have an Electrical Apprenticeship with an 18th Edition Current Regulations City & Guilds 2381 and City & Guilds 2391 Inspection and Testing certification. You will have a good understanding of the environment and general health and safety in the workplace including, IOSH working safely or relevant experience. You will have previous experience of installing and maintaining industrial building electrical and control services systems including, lighting, power distribution, heating systems, water services, steam services and refrigeration systems, within a busy demand led environment. You will be a flexible and adaptable team player with excellent communication skills in order to work effectively with customers and teams at all levels, working as part of a team or independently. With a customer service approach to problem solving and the ability to work to deadlines, you will be capable of using your own initiative with minimum supervision.
