Together, we can help people build stronger communities - we're just getting started. **Summary:** Facebook is seeking an experienced privacy professional with experience in legal and/or operational data protection to join the office of the Data Protection Officer. These individuals should be able to advise the company on a range of privacy, data protection and security-related initiatives, ideally from both an operational and legal perspective. This is a full-time position located in our London Office. The role is broad and, among other things, involves advising the business on various legal risks and obligations under the General Data Protection Regulation as well as other European privacy and data protection laws and regulators. It also involves representing the EU DPO Office to various stakeholders within Facebook, and various levels of executive management. This requires the ability to work independently and assess the impact of project initiatives on data subject's privacy and data protection, as well as the impact of laws and regulations on Facebook products and services. We are looking for someone with sharp analytical and communication skills, who is diligent, proactive, collaborative, organized and has demonstrated excellent legal and business judgment as well as strategic thinking.The role will report to the Data Protection Director and will be based in London. **Required Skills:** 1. Represent the DPO Office in all relevant matters, especially representing European privacy requirements as part of the global Facebook privacy program 2. Assist in the design and ongoing improvement of various operational privacy processes, including policy creation, risk assessment, control design, monitoring and governanc 3. Undertake privacy and data protection-related investigations where necessary 4. Develop guidance and potentially training and awareness materials for relevant business functions involved in the processing of personal data 5. Partner with relevant industry and consumer bodies to analyze relevant GDPR developments and their impact on Facebook users 6. Support the DPO in preparing for events, speeches, and meetings with data protection authorities **Minimum Qualifications:** 7. Experience working in privacy and data protection with law firm, renowned consultancy and/or in-house with internet or technology companies 8. Experience developing and implementing large scale operational processes, including design, development, rollout, change management and continuous improvement 9. Knowledge of and interest in emerging technologies and devices 10. Experience in independently, quickly and accurately assess legal, practical and business risks, as well as risks to data subjects, in a fast-paced environment 11. Interpersonal skills and an absolute commitment to professionalism and collegiality 12. Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to get the job done 13. Focus on multi-tasking, details, and organizational skills 14. Attention to detail and experience drafting in a commercial setting with business stakeholders, as well as in a public setting with data subjects and data protection authorities **Preferred Qualifications:** 15. Experience with the General Data Protection Regulation, as well as other global privacy laws, regulations, and industry guidelines, especially including those relevant for social media and Internet companies 16.
