Job purpose: Our Warehouse Operative position is a role based at our NRC Nuneaton where you will be responsible for the loading and unloading of our trailers and then placing those parcels on to our conveyor systems. The parcels that you will be handling will mainly be items being returned to our clients. The first step in that process will be you unloading trailers from our Depot network. These parcels will then be scanned and sorted on our conveyors, then loaded in to trailers that will be delivered to our clients. This role requires the manual handling of both small and large items which can be wrapped to different standards. Our parcels are usually less than 20kg* with the average weight being less than 2kg but this is a physical position. About the Role: You'll report in to your First Line Managers and Shift Supervisors/Managers, where you will be part of a shift that processes a large volume of returns parcels. Depending on which shift and what day, it may be anything from 40,000 to a 100,000 parcels in a shift. But don't worry you won't be tackling them alone! You'll work as part of a small team unloading each trailer. To help you work more efficiently, we've installed fancy telescoping conveyors so they can extend in to the trailers as you work. This isn't an easy job and at times you will have to deal with large volumes but then there will be times when the volumes are lighter and you'll have chance to gain new skills and experience. One of the benefits of our Warehouse Operative is that this is a nights based position, you would work across a day shift starting at 6pm-4am. You would work four with four days off. You must be able to work well in a team to excel as one of our Warehouse Operatives.
