Job Title Technology Architect, Markets & Execution Job Description Key relationships * Peers in IT Architecture * Technology Managers, Infrastructure and Development Teams * Business Stakeholders and Product Managers Key Responsibilities & Requirements Core Responsibilities * Lead the drive for defining and commending the architecture vision and high level design for specialised areas of the core trading and execution areas. * Be able to offer equal expertise in development and infrastructure based architecture principles and solutions. * Key participant in building and enhancing technology strategy with a focus on delivery of best of breed markets and execution solutions. * Possess in depth knowledge of market leading architecture and solutions in low latency and high frequency domains. * Solid understanding of technology strategy, change management, and a principled approach to broad transformational challenges and opportunities. * Actively participate in the relevant communities of practice, providing thought leadership, coaching and mentoring of other employees to build a community around development best practice, developing standards and knowledge sharing. Person specification * A good collaborator who is happy to work hands on across the IT teams to support integration design realisation and ensure collaborative evolution of the strategy. * A proactive and creative thinker who provides clear vision, inspiring and engaging staff to deliver excellence. * Demonstrates sound and pragmatic judgement, balancing pace, risk and business value to reach decisions which are well informed, rigorous and actionable. * Establishes and maintains effective working relationships and influence with key stakeholders based on professional credibility and excellent communication and engagement. * Good facilitator, drawing out problems, involving and gaining commitment from the relevant stakeholders with credibility and gravitas to establish trust, gaining consensus and buy-in. * Politically aware, able to facilitate outcomes where priorities and personalities are in conflict. * Desire to work collaboratively with Architecture, Infrastructure and Development teams to deliver excellence and best of breed solutions. Likely background experience * 7 years' experience in a front office environment with 3 years in an architecture role. * Demonstrable in-depth knowledge of order management, exchanges and pricing. * Have good experience of low latency, high capacity front office trading systems. * Proficiency in best of breed architecture and design of markets and execution systems. * Worked in an environment high availability and resilient systems. * Experience in actively identifying areas where latest developments and innovations would benefit and add value in the IG Technology landscape. * Capability of bringing new ideas and designs to the environment around system designs, including but not limited to containerised environments, cloud adoption and automation. Mobility * Infrequent travel between IG offices in London, Krakow and Bangalore to meet with team members and stakeholders. Number of openings 1
