Do you work in social care or rehabilitation and are looking for a more senior role? We're looking for a full-time (35 hours per week) Senior Support Worker with relevant experience to support our clinical team and to supervise and develop our dedicated team of Support Workers here at Redford Court in Liverpool. Featured in the Louis Theroux TV documentary A Different Brain , Redford Court is specialist rehabilitation centre which provides care and support to 24 adults with acquired brain injury and complex needs. In this role you will work alongside other support workers, clinicians and therapists, to deliver warm, friendly and professional support. Redford Court is one of 13 specialist brain injury centres located in England, Scotland and Wales and run by the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Trust (BIRT), part of The Disabilities Trust. We are looking for people who can: * enable our service users to perform basic functions of every day living which, due to their disability, they are unable to perform without assistance. * contribute towards the planning and implementation of a comprehensive programme of educative, social and leisure activities based on service users individual programme plan. * facilitate the development and practice of those skills necessary to enable service users to live within the community in a range of living options * support the clinical team in providing a seamless service for service users with acquired brain injury and other neurological conditions. * supervise and develop a team of Rehabilitation Support Workers as enablers, guiding, supporting and assisting people with acquired brain injury and other neurological conditions in the performance of daily living functions and development of personal skills and potential. Working hours Both these roles are permanent 35 hours/week positions. You will work across a six week rolling rota which includes working some bank holidays and weekends (approximately two weekends in six weeks). Any bank holidays worked will be offered as other holiday days. BIRT has been providing excellence in brain injury rehabilitation for 25 years. Our neurobehavioural approach to rehabilitation combines the best evidence-based, scientific methods of changing behaviour with an understanding of brain injury and philosophy of community based rehabilitation.
