Interim Head of Group Reporting (Maternity Cover role, 6 months)

Job Description
Reporting to the Director of Group Finance, this is a senior management job which offers a high level of engagement with senior stakeholders including the Global Senior Finance Leadership Team, the Global Executive Leadership Team and our Private Equity owners, and the opportunity to be involved in a wide variety of global projects. Key Responsibilities: Working closely with the Group CFO, Heads of Group FP&A, Tax and Treasury, and the Regional Finance Directors and Controllers in Brighton and Sydney, and supported by two qualified accountants, this role will be responsible for: + Ownership of the annual statutory accounts preparation process including: + Group?s statutory consolidation, including all elimination adjustments + Group?s consolidated IFRS accounts + UK corporate entity accounts (six entities) + Management of the Group annual audit process with Deloitte and preparation and coordination of Audit Committee papers twice a year + Ownership of the Group cash flow monthly management reporting and analysis, including the budget and monthly rolling forecast process, as well as the longer term outlook + Management of the monthly management reporting and forecasting of the balance sheet, debt-like items and ?Exceptionals? (below EBITDA) items that feed into the monthly Board pack + Review of the monthly external lender reporting pack + Overseeing the quarterly covenant calculations for external lenders forecasting of covenants and liquidity for going concern + Ownership of Group impairment model, including technical updates and timely audit sign-off + Technical accounting advice for the Group. Ability and willingness to take accounting areas that arise and produce a succinct memorandum and the roll out of Group accounting policies with reference to financial standards. + Acquisition and disposal accounting assistance, including goodwill calculations and gain/loss on disposal accounting + Drive a robust controls and compliance environment across the Group + Regular review of operating businesses accounting policies and account reconciliations + Assistance in Group Tax planning + Other ad-hoc tasks and projects as required by the Board, our private equity owners or the senior leadership team. Experience and Skills required: + Technical accounting experience working with multi-currency and multi-location consolidations + Ideally audit background from a top tier firm, with at least one or two roles out of practice + Previous experience of working in a matrix-based organisation would be a significant advantage, as would experience of working in private-equity backed businesses. + Ability to independently lead projects and initiatives through to completion + Delivery focussed ? can work to deadlines as required and drives performance across the team. Resilient self-starter who can work with minimal direction. + Experienced manager in a Group finance team + Advanced excel skills and strong communication skills + Ability to develop and manage strong relationships with key contacts in the regions + Flexible working style, able to adapt to changing and conflicting priorities and work under pressurised deadlines. + Strong problem solving ability and ?quick learner?
