My client within Manufacturing and E-commerce is on the search for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join their new digital transformation. Role: Senior DevOps Engineer Location: London (working from home initially) Day Rate: £650-£750p/d Start Date: ASAP Contract: 6 Months Scope: Outside IR35 We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to focus on the delivery of key improvements to our full-stack landscape and ensure our technology services are automated, integrated and running efficiently. It is essential that the role holder is a highly collaborative person. Key Responsibilities * Design and management of cloud architectures guaranteeing high availability, top performance and reliability. * Being involved in engineering and applications operations. * Automate systems management, focusing on performance and scalability, improving utilization and reducing toil. * Design cost-effective solutions and services ensuring that value is measured, tracked and realized at the end of key delivery points. * Development and improvement of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery pipelines for developer productivity increase. * Design and implement logging, monitoring and alerting solutions, increasing systems visibility and enabling faster recovery from incidents. * Ensure all services and solutions designed are built in adherence to their InfoSec policies and are fully industrialized for consumption by customers and technology groups. * Working in a data driven environment to set, monitor and meet ambitious quality goals. Essential Skills & Experience * Excellent skills and experience in the deployment and management of applications, and their configuration, through - Python, Shell, Groovy, Terraform and Ansible. * Extensive experience of deploying technology solutions across cloud-native platforms. We predominantly use Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Salesforce Cloud, Adobe Cloud and others. * Demonstrable experience of integrating and industrializing technology platforms (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS) on a global scale reducing operational and process waste. * Infrastructure organization and management experience, particularly virtualization and containerisation (preferably Docker, Azure Stack, K8s). * Experience of building, running and improving CI/CD frameworks, tools etc. and industrializing these into day-to-day operations. * Experience with DNS and Content Distribution Networks (Akamai is highly desirable). * Experience with Azure applications provisioning and configuration. * Experience with implementation of Identity & Access Management (IAM) and Single Sign-On (SSO). * Deep experience of integrating monitoring and alerting technologies, such as New Relic, CloudWatch and Elasticsearch 7 into the technology stack and driving significant change in the customer experience. * Familiarity with CloudFormation. * Experience with REST APIs. * Experience with microservices architectures. * Demonstrable understanding of security and networking principles in a cloud-native environment. * Understanding of DevOps principles and best practices. * Has worked within, and can appreciate, the need for applying delivery methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, Waterfall etc. appropriately to the work being delivered.
