Description Graduate Actuarial Analyst (Retirement Consulting) Location: Ipswich Employment start date: September 2020 Buck Global: We provide high quality actuarial consulting, investment advice, investment management, and outsourced investment management services to our defined benefit, defined contribution, foundation, and endowment clients. This includes trustee's advisory, pension scheme de-risking and valuation, scheme funding, investment manager research & selection, and fund performance monitoring, developing investment policy statements, and liability driven investment (LDI) implementation. The Opportunity: Buck are seeking to recruit a number of talented and ambitious Graduates who are interested in developing a career in Retirement (Actuarial) Consulting. As a Graduate - Actuarial Analyst in our Retirement Teams, you will join a multi-disciplined team providing clients with leading retirement and investment strategy solutions. As a graduate Actuarial Analyst, you will find that no two days in the office are the same and no two clients are alike. You will work with a range of clients, teams and colleagues who advise either the trustees who manage the pension scheme, or the company corporate leadership that manage and sponsor the schemes. Based in our Ipswich office, you will be working within a team of highly experienced pensions; Analysts, Consultants, Senior Actuaries, Investment Consultants and Principal Consultants. Key duties: + Providing support to senior actuarial analysts across a portfolio of clients + Completing and checking actuarial calculations + Data analysis and modelling + Performing calculations for actuarial valuations and corporate accounting + Assisting with preparation of reports and other client materials + Participating in internal projects + Workflow planning and project management + Building a wide knowledge of UK pensions matters What we look for in a Buck Graduate: + Strong education background - BSc, MSc or PhD in any degree discipline; + Minimum qualification; 3 A levels and GCSE's including Math and English at grade B and above; + Strong analytical, skills to understand what we do - having attention to detail to understand the wider context of the work being done; + Learning agility - eager and quick to pick up on key concepts and market trends on a steep learning curve; + Thriving in ambiguity- accept the unknown; persevering and adapting to serve our clients' needs; + Building relationships - being a strong team player and engaging in active communication with colleagues and clients.
