Job Description
Purpose of the job The Certification Engineer is responsible for assisting the timely development, submission and acceptance by London Underground of deliverable records; and promulgating the importance of contemporaneous record generation to the Construction teams. Accountabilities / Key responsibilities * Maintain the Works Certification Structure and report progress on a regular basis. * Develop and maintain MAID schedules and other Records Package Listings. * Liaise with Package Managers and London Underground Quality Manager to gain acceptance of MAID schedules and other Records Package Listings by London Underground. * Liaise with Package Managers to ensure the embedment of records packages submission dates within the Programme. * Ensure the timely 'capture' of records arising within ASITE (electronic document management system). * Oversee the contemporaneous generation of supporting documentation and red-line record drawings. * Liaise with construction teams to ensure records are progressively compiled and submitted, and support completion of works packages (including resolution of anomalies). * Ensure production and sign-off of Construction Declarations and Asset Declarations to support completion of works packages. * Support Package Managers with handover of sections of completed works to London Underground. * Provide training or advise to the teams as deemed necessary to facilitate the above. * Provide support to the Quality team, as necessary. Experience, knowledge, qualifications & training * Good working knowledge of English, both written and verbal, and be able to report at management level. * Educated to HND or HNC level or equivalent in an engineering or construction discipline. * Previous experience of compliance and assurance certification processes and acceptance, preferably within the rail industry. * Working knowledge of London Underground and construction standards, as well as working practices. * Demonstrable knowledge of system engineering and control. * Business and commercial awareness. * IT literate, especially with Microsoft Excel and Word. * Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage own time.
