Job Description
We have an opportunity for a CAD Technician to join our Civil Engineering team, working out of Merchants House in Bristol (BS1 4RW), our large multidisciplinary office overlooking the Harbourside. Hydrock is an independently owned multidisciplinary consultancy, of circa 500 staff, operating out of 17 offices. We continue to expand our private and public sector client base by both organic and acquisitive growth within our national structural and civil engineering business, led from Bristol, where our largest team is located. You can expect exceptional colleagues to work with and learn from and an interesting variety of challenging and sometimes prestigious projects. Recent examples include Airbus Wing Testing Facility, Finzels Reach, Bristol General Hospital, Wapping Wharf and Hinkley Point C. Being a multidisciplinary office, you will have the opportunity to work closely with other disciplines, including building services, utilities, structures, transportation and geo-environmental. We also have pool and table tennis tables, big views and plenty of socials! Core job functions: * Production of high-quality, detailed technical drawings and plans based on engineers' sketches * Strong design skills, including calculations and reports for a diverse range of projects * Communicating internally and externally with the project team to understand design requirements The attributes we expect you to bring to the role and company: * BTEC/HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or similar technical qualification/experience, with relevant knowledge gained in a design office environment * Excellent technical design skills in AutoCAD * Good understanding of technical software such as Civil 3D, AutoTrack, MicroDrainage, Drawnet and any other industry standard software * Some understanding of Section 104, 278 and 38 adoption procedures * Some knowledge of UK planning procedures and experience of providing technical support to secure planning approval * Some experience of securing technical approvals from highway and drainage authorities * Self-motivated team player with good people skills * Believes in our ethos www.hydrock.com/about-us/our-ethos The remuneration package will include a competitive salary and employer pension contribution, 25 days annual leave (with the option to buy/sell up to five days), healthy living bonus, wellbeing bonus and a wide variety of flexible benefits.
