Job Description
Join learning disability charity Brandon Trust as a support worker and discover a genuinely rewarding role with plenty of training, support, a competitive salary, benefits and opportunities to develop your career. You don't necessarily need experience as we provide full training. You'll join a team who support 14 individuals with profound and multiple learning disabilities in a homely environment, in the Cadbury Heath area of Bristol. We also offer waking nights contracts where you'll have a guaranteed number of hours work each week on a rolling rota. There will also be occasional daytime working, for example to attend training courses. Coronavirus update: As a key worker, you'll provide essential services, and you'll receive full training, equipment and support. You will need to be available and able to carry out your role during the Coronavirus pandemic. Your day could include, for example, supporting individuals to maintain contact with their families and attend social activities both within the home and out in the community. You might also support someone to go on holiday and also attend hospital appointments. You will also support individuals in day-to-day activities, with eating and drinking and personal care; find out more about these aspects of the role through videos on our website. As part of the team of staff you'll also participate in running the home including washing, cooking, shopping and cleaning. If you're new to social care, we will support you gain the nationally recognised Care Certificate. If you have experience as a care assistant or care worker in a care home, you'll discover we provide plenty of on-going training, support to achieve relevant qualifications and career progression. Respectful of people's differences, you can build professional relationships and have a flexible approach. You can work 24/7 shifts including weekends and evenings / nights. A full driving licence is desirable. We provide a range of benefits.
