Currently St Georges Supported Living are looking for experienced healthcare individuals who are compassionate, enthusiastic and have a passion for person-centred care. St Georges Supported Living approach to our staff is to offer you flexibility, choice, trust and security, with a 24-hour team to support you in your career.We are currently seeking experienced support workers to join our team at our West London Scheme to support adults with enduring mental health needs. We provide a positive and homely environment. Each resident is treated as a unique and complex individual and they are supported to achieve their optimum lifestyle and well-being. Outcomes and goals are negotiated, difficulties shared and successes celebrated. As this scheme provides 24 hours a day, 7 days a week services, we can offer staff a variety of hours, including day shifts. Above all we want someone that shares in our values. These are: * a commitment to quality and being the best we can * treating the people we support with compassion * showing dignity and respect to the people that they will be working with * having trust and respect for all members of our team Requirements * Minimum of 9 month's experience within the health and social care sector * A passion for promoting independence and well-being with residents and fellow staff * An imaginative and innovative approach to support * An experience and understanding of mental health issues would be an advantage Main Duties: * Assist with the assessment and implementation of individual patient Support plans undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed to facilitate the well-being, dignity and treatment of all patients. * Provides practical support and responsive support to patients who require assistance with intimate personal activities that comply with procedures and the relevant healthcare legislation. * Observes and monitors the well-being of patients ensuring that any unusual physical, mental or emotional occurrences are promptly referred to senior staff/Care coordinator and documented as appropriate. * Provide specific interventions with patients such as Observation and Engagement with Patients, escorting patients, and being involved in de-escalation and management of violence and aggression. * Contribute to a team approach to service users support in conjunction with all members of the mental health support team. * Participate in regular scheme meetings and attend other meetings as requested. * To assist in the maintenance of stock levels, including pharmaceutical products. * Administer Medication as prescribed and well documented on a MARS sheet. * To assist in the maintenance of scheme cleanliness and tidiness and adhere to infection control policy and procedures at all times. * Develops and maintains a good professional relationship with service users, colleagues and visitors responding promptly and courteously to requests and enquiries. * Help promote and maintain an environment conducive to meeting the needs of the patient / relatives and carers. * Ensure service users are gaining a quality service that is value for their money. * To receive and convey information from telephone or personal enquiries in a courteous manner and ensure all persons visiting the scheme are greeted and assisted in a welcoming and supportive manner.
