Job Description

Key Purposes of the Role * Ensure a high level of health & safety of compliance and maintained at all times. * Undertake work on landfill site/compost plant operating mobile plant to move and process waste. * Delivery of full service contract compliance. * Assists in the delivery of a safe operation within the transfer station & operational areas Key Accountabilities * Ensuring waste is accepted and dealt with in compliance with our PPC permit * Operating mobile plant (mainly compactor, telehandler and shunter vehicle) to load and move materials * Operation of HWRC and Shunter operations * Ownership of the SHEQ culture and behaviour for the contract. * General site work may include housekeeping & ground maintenance, painting of skips and containers, paper picking and generally keeping the site in a safe and tidy manner. * Working in a small team, customer and member of the public relations, to be able to work on your own initiative when required and be able to adapt to different situations. * Health and Safety is of paramount importance and you will be expected to have a good understanding and be willing to adhere to all Renewi safe systems of work * Ensure the timely completion of actions given by site management * Report and communicate all incidents as per the incident reporting systems * Attend all site briefings and support a change culture when required * Follow all risk assessments and safe operating procedure that are relevant to the post * Comply with and actively participate in company standards, procedures, environmental and quality systems. * Keep all equipment clean and maintained to ensure a safe working environment Experience, Education & Qualifications Essential * Mobile Plant experience * Ability to work productively with all members of the operations team * Operating heavy machinery * Able to carry out daily maintenance duties and minor repairs * Willing to be flexible in whatever task you are given * Demands high standards of themselves and others and is able to translate this into high quality, high pace output. * Ability to build and maintain strong, cohesive relationships at all levels. * Basic understanding of health, safety and environmental compliance.
