Correspondent - Arabic Channel (Input)

Description Position at Al Jazeera Media Network Summary: The Correspondent is responsible for filing high quality reports from the field, including packaged stories, live reports with analysis and coverage of breaking news events. This will be working for the Arabic Channel, based in London, UK Responsibilities * Delivers high quality, packaged reports and lives from field to a tight deadline. * Generates original and innovative stories from assigned region which reflect Al Jazeera's values and mission. * Covers breaking news events with live reports and analysis, and maintaining update to news/ breaking news information in an accurate and credible way. * Travels and relocates depending on editorial needs. * Conducts insightful interviews. * Represents Al Jazeera in the field. * Seeks Exclusive and genuine ideas to be turned into strong packages. * Participates in editorial meetings in determining the major news stories in need of elaboration and content development. * Participates in regular planning meetings to determine the major news stories in need of elaboration and content development the coming day ( s), with genuine ideas . * Performs all the assigned duties from Input Department ( News Desk & Planning) * Should refer to Input Department and get approval in dealing with all other channel's sections and directorates * Should refer to Input Department and get approval in dealing with all other channels of the network Job Requirements: * Minimum BA in Journalism, Media, Communication, or related fields * Minimum 7 years of professional experience for the Correspondent. Must be a proven talent with solid journalistic, editorial and broadcast credentials. * Fluent in the Arabic language - verbal and written * Editorial, political and cultural awareness and the ability to define standards of news and Fluency and readiness to speak live to support breaking news and programs according to the needs of Al Jazeera * Strong understanding of the Middle East in terms of political, economic and social issues * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Application Closing Date: 9th July 2020
