Job Description
You make a difference, every day, that's why we need you in our team. This role is to provide Domiciliary care at our home in Otterbourne, Winchester. You treat the people you care for as individuals, whether that's through your experience of working as carer or because you've cared for an older relative or friend. We'll support you to provide care which is tailored to every person's needs As our Care Assistant, you will; * Provide personal care to clients that is person centered and respects individual choices. * Provide additional care and support as required when a client is unwell or towards end of life. * Act as a Key-worker to a number of clients. * Use personal knowledge and experience of working with those individuals to support the Domiciliary Care Supervisor in writing and reviewing care plans. * Document care given and record any changes or abnormalities in the daily notes in addition to informing the person in charge of the shift. * Provide support and advice to resident's family and friends, keeping them informed at an appropriate level with due regard to the constraints of confidentiality. * Liaise with other agencies as required in the interests of the resident, for example GP, Social Services, Occupational Therapist, etc. We'd love you to be NVQ/QCF 2 qualified with experience of providing care but it's your values that are more important to us. This is a full time position of 36 hours to be worked on a rota basis over 7 days including alternate weekend working. Night shift hours are 8.00pm to 8.00am. This is an on site domiciliary care position and will require no driving for appointments. In return we offer a hourly rate of 10.20 (10.55 with NVQ Level 2) enhanced rates for working Bank Holidays, 5.6 weeks days holiday (including Bank Holidays) increasing to 6 weeks with five years service. In addition we provide full training and continuing personal development including the opportunity to undertake an NVQ/QCF, a free uniform, free DBS check, paid breaks and free meals when on duty.
