Senior Security Engineer

Job Description
We have an urgent requirement for a senior security engineer. Our client's operations manages our client's IT support network and the data communications network, which provides data communications to various sites and systems as part of Business Infrastructure and Revenue earning systems. These networks and support systems are critical to our client's revenue generation and have to provide secure, resilient and timely movement of data. As part of the business system and customer network services modernisation, we are looking for an Applications Security Engineer to ensure that applications and infrastructure elements are implemented to the highest standards thus maintaining and enhancing customer confidence. The incumbent shall work as part of the security engineering team and participate in technical reviews, change control meetings, risk analysis, and security architecture reviews across the enterprise. The Role: * Assist in identifying security issues and risks, and develop mitigation plans for platform and application environments. Help analyse, design and implement enhancements to the network to ensure it and applications are secure * Evaluate, design, document, and implement security-focused tools and services * Ensure the systems within our client are compliant with ISO27001/2, and NIST 800-53 security control frameworks * Evaluate and recommend new and emerging security products and technologies. Influence system owners to adopt the security requirements on established systems and on new deployments * Work with other stakeholders within our client to write, update, and implement Information Security designs and standards * The post will require some travel to our client's remote offices and work during maintenance windows To Apply: * A citizen of the United Kingdom (UK) with eligibility for UK government security clearance and access to United States International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) data * Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Computer Science / Data Communications * Consistent integration and implementation of security solutions at the business unit level * At least 10 years of system and/or application security design and integration experience * At least 5 years of experience involvement with development team(s) that delivered commercial software or software-based services (development, QA testing, or security services) * At least 5 years of experience in infrastructure or application-level architecture and design with strong knowledge of system security vulnerabilities, exploits, and remediation techniques * In-depth experience identifying and protecting against web application and web service security vulnerabilities including those found in the OWASP Top 10 and CWE Top 25 * Strong knowledge of the browser security model, web security services, mobile platform security, and network security * Knowledge of cloud vendors such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Microsoft AZURE and related security services * Basic knowledge of project management, systems engineering, and software development lifecycle methodologies * Willingness to learn new skills and be self-motivated * Ability to work in a team environment, to work under pressure and show flexibility * A co-operative but assertive personality * Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English In Return: You will receive a highly competitive package and excellent chance to progress your career within a fast moving organisation.
