The Council's 2020 Apprenticeship scheme offers exciting employment opportunities in a number of different service areas across the Council. The Street Lighting team are looking for an apprentice who will be focused on delivering high quality street lighting works and safely. You will work alongside experienced colleagues, gaining job-specific knowledge and skills. The scheme gives you the opportunity to earn a wage whilst learning and working towards nationally recognised professional qualifications in your chosen career path. Applicants must have an understanding of Health and Safety, along with a flexible approach to your working day and a willingness to learn. It is essential that you have a minimum of 3-5 GCSE's A*-C (or equivalent) coupled with an interest in Street Lighting. This is a fixed term post for a two-year period and will start in September 2020. You will be paid National Minimum Wage dependent on age: * 25 & over 8.72 21-24 8.20 * 18 - 20 6.45 Under 18 4.55 Due to the Apprenticeship entry criteria, applications cannot be accepted from any applicant who has already gained a similar qualification at level 3 or above in the role applied for. For example, if you have a degree in Civil Engineering you will not be eligible to apply for a Civil Engineering apprenticeship post. However, you could apply for any other apprenticeship post.
