Job Description
Role We are looking for a Senior Project Accountant to work on HS2 Main Works. As a Senior Project Accountant, you will be responsible for supporting the Finance Director within the project's core team with the focus on maintaining and ensuring integrity of ledgers and control environment for the SCS JV. The role reports directly to the Finance Director. Key Responsibilities Accountabilities * Project Accounting - Integrity of costs and accuracy & transaction processing * Financial control, Governance, segregation of duties & process flows * Maintenance of sound financial controls, in line with JV guidelines, ensuring that all applicable requirements can be met at all times * Financial reporting and forecasting Monitoring and Reporting * Production of monthly JV Board Finance Report and any ad-hoc reporting requirements including rolling forecasts, cash-flows, balance sheet reconciliations other reporting requirements for the JV Partners * Work with Area Senior Project Accountant to ensure robust site reporting * Finance KPIs * Tracking fee based/disallowed costs * Understand the commercial contracts in use in order to challenge the commercial position ensuring reporting represents a fair and accurate reflection on contract performance * Work closely with the Senior Management to improve project reporting and reduce commercial risk. Cash * Ensure cash forecasts are robustly prepared and accurately reported. * Cashflow requirements for JV Partners Other * Lead cost verification requirements * Assist FD with liaison of Treasury teams for all Treasury items (Bank Mandate, PBA, FX, Bonds) * Assist project teams with client audits, helping minimise disallowed costs and improve project cash flow. * Assist with the setup of the projects processes and control environment.
