We are currently looking for an experienced Senior Planning Engineer who will be responsible for providing a complete planning service to nuclear projects and produce accurate cost and resource plans which will fit the project budget. Reporting to the Project Controls Manager, this role can be based in either our Gateshead or Renfrew office and may involve travel to various sites throughout the UK. This role will work with a portfolio of projects and will require multiple interfaces that will be managed across the different work packages. The Senior Planning Engineer will be responsible for the design Phase and coordination of construction activities at site. You will also support the delivery team updating the plan to reflect change and monitoring/reporting progress. You will report on EVA (CPI and SPI) and identify the impact of any delays. The Senior Planning Engineer will be qualified in a related Engineering discipline. They will be able to provide a full traditional planning service and create reports from blank Primavera templates and full cost load schedules. An understanding or experience of risk management is essential as is the ability to identify and track impacts on a programme of works. You will have a full understanding of realistic construction capabilities/durations and interfaces and have previous experience of developing integrated plans, monitoring progress and updating forecast schedules. You will have relevant experience within nuclear engineering/construction projects and NEC3 contracts and be able to demonstrate relevant experience in resource planning, cost estimates and planning (including Primavera P6). A working knowledge of Microsoft project and project management techniques would be beneficial and you will also be able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of the full construction lifecycle from engineering and procurement through to installation, commissioning and ideally also with a knowledge of decommissioning.
