Line of Service Tax Industry/Sector Not Applicable Specialism Customs & International Trade Management Level Associate Job Description & Summary A career within Tax services, will provide you with the opportunity to help our clients meet and manage their tax obligations across unique but ever changing tax specialties. You'll advise clients on their local and overseas tax affairs, while acting as a strategic consultant related to business analysis, managing indirect taxes, dispute resolution, and global enterprise tax solutions. Our team helps our clients identify and reduce tax risks, meet compliance obligations, implement tax strategies that complement business and operational objectives, resolve disagreements with tax authorities, and manage tax accounting and reporting issues. You'll be engaged in projects dealing with International tax, mergers and acquisitions, state and local tax accounting, regulatory processes, tax reporting and strategy. As Consultant in VAT area your main tasks will be: - Providing advisory services related to VAT to Slovak and international clients; - Assisting client in the VAT inspection and VAT litigation process, communicate with Slovak tax authorities; - Preparation of allocated VAT returns; - Monitoring tax legislation on Slovak and EU level, writing internal analyses, preparation newsletters for clients, participate on preparation of comments to proposed new VAT and related legislation; - Cooperation with colleagues from other lines of service, e.g. audit, corporate income tax team. Personality requirements and skills: University education (economic subject); At least 2 years of experience with the VAT, including: - knowledge of Slovak and EU VAT legislation, judgements of the European Court of Justice , tax administration law; - experience in providing advisory services to Slovak and foreign clients on the VAT structuring, transactions, compliance; - experience in communication with Slovak and foreign clients; - experience in verbal and electronic communication with tax offices and other institutions; Ability to work and actively communicate in English; Intermediate level Excel use; and Interest in technology, Excel, and new software.
