We are addressing projects across the energy spectrum, encompassing substations, overhead and underground systems, and smart networks as the UK expands investment and technology to support distributed energy and a shift to electric vehicles\. This role will be a key part of our UK engineering team, bringing experience in developing civil and structural designs and supporting design packages for utility clients, developers, and major electrical infrastructure projects\.The key tasks and responsibilities are as follows: Technical Responsibilities The Civil/Structural Engineer will work within a multi\-discipline team to develop efficient and reliable design of civil/structural components of Substation and Transmission Facilities in accordance with applicable industry codes and standards\. Responsibilities may include but not limited to: * Working for the Engineering Manager, completing your own engineering projects and overseeing other engineers on larger packages of work\. + Structural engineering and consulting services for clients across the UK, the US and internationally\. + Delivering accurate and thorough designs of a variety of complex and simple structures that will meet industry and/ client standards and codes as applicable\. + Perform structural engineering quality reviews of peers and / or sub\-consultants\. + Structural design and analysis of foundations, structural substation components, steel structures and other civil structural components, using industry standard software\. + Designing in accordance with CDM regulations\. * Other duties as assigned\. Functional responsibilities * Assist with bid stage technical solutions * Interact in a professional manner with clients and colleagues to achieve project objectives * Able to manage multiple projects and conflicting deadlines * Able to work autonomously and as part of a project team * Ongoing development of industry relationships to assist with future technical project delivery, development of future project opportunities, and Burns & McDonnell brand recognition\. * Personal professional development and partaking in professional bodies and industry groups * Technical mentoring of developing engineers within the team Qualifications Required Skills + Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from accredited program\. + Minimum 5 years of related experience\. + Experience with industry standards software + Working knowledge of AutoCAD or other CAD software required\. + This position requires an experienced and competent individual capable of successfully solving difficult problems that require adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures and criteria\. + Client coordination experience + Excellent written & verbal communication skills\. + Strong analytical and problem\-solving skills\.
