Job Description

Job Purpose: Working as part of the Global Low Touch e-Trading Activity (LTA) team, the role would entail real-time monitoring of all algorithmic trading activities by Citi's traders and clients in EMEA for signs of disorderly trading and limit breaches as well as working with business, Compliance and Risk to implement strategic control enhancement projects. The role is required to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, namely MIFID II, as well as supporting and contributing to the enhancement of the LTA related risk control framework. The role therefore has a critical part to play in ensuring best business practice, as well as satisfying MIFID II and the focus of several regulatory bodies who scrutinize our control framework around LTA. Job Background/context: This role is to be part of the BCS Low Touch eTrading Activity (LTA) team. The role will involve real time monitoring of all algorithmic trading activities in EMEA, liaising with the respective trading desks in investigating signs of disorderly trading. The role would also support the oversight of LTA across global Markets and Securities Services and assist in the development of the control frameworks applied to LTA ensuring a robust and preventive control framework in the businesses. Key Responsibilities: Real-time monitoring of all algorithmic trading activities by Citi's traders and clients in EMEA for signs of disorderly trading, limit breaches etc. Work with the Desk heads, Compliance and Risk functions to determine appropriate pre-trade limits, changing and periodic review of these limits Develop and enhance critical LTA Governance Systems to further strengthen the LTA control framework. Assess desk procedures and workflow (i.e. list of systems used, change and approval processes for pre-trade and post trade limits, documentation) Review kill switch activation procedures and escalation protocols Implementation and management of remedial actions Significant input into LTA governance framework including maintenance of LTA strategy and application inventory, new strategy and application approval, maintenance of LTA related documents Annual self-assessment of LTA key controls and drawing up validation report to comply with MIFID 2 requirement Development Value: This role plays a leading contribution to the strategic direction of the internal control framework related to LTA. Knowledge/Experience: Excellent process and task management skills; capable of seeing the bigger picture as well as strong focus on day-today execution. Experience of working with colleagues from different businesses, regions and support functions Experience in a controls or trading related role (Trader/Desk Assistant, Middle Office, Compliance, Audit) desirable not essential Experience in coding (C++, JAVA, Python) desirable not essential Strong financial skills, analytical skills and problem solving skills Qualifications: Relevant Markets experience preferably in a controls or trading related role (Trader/Desk Assistant, Middle Office, Compliance, Audit) Exceptional candidates who do not meet these criteria may be considered for the role provided they have the necessary skills and experience.
