Line of Service Internal Firm Services Industry/Sector Not Applicable Specialism IFS - Information Technology (IT) Management Level Manager Job Description & Summary A career in Information Technology, within internal firm services, will provide you with the opportunity to support our core business functions by deploying applications that enable our people to work more efficiently and deliver the highest levels of service to our clients. You'll focus on managing the design and implementation of technology infrastructure within PwC, developing and enhancing both client and internal facing applications within PwC, and providing technology tools that help create a competitive advantage for the firm to drive strategic business growth. Responsibilities As a Manager, you'll work as part of a team of problem solvers with extensive consulting and industry experience, helping our clients solve their complex business issues from strategy to execution. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to: * Proactively assist in the management of a portfolio of clients, while reporting to Senior Managers and above * Be involved in the financial management of clients * Be actively involved in business development activities to help identify and research opportunities on new/existing clients * Contribute to the development of your own and team's technical acumen * Develop strategies to solve complex technical challenges * Assist in the management and delivering of large projects * Train, coach, and supervise staff * Keep up to date with local and national business and economic issues * Continue to develop internal relationships and your PwC brand IT Service Management * Ensure high availability network infrastructure to provide maximum performance to the Centre * Establish the networking environment by designing system configuration, directing system installation, defining, documenting and enforcing system standards * Maximise network performance by monitoring performance, managing network problems and outages, scheduling upgrades and collaborating with network architects on network optimisation * Undertake data network fault investigations in local and global wide area network environments, using information from multiple sources * Secure network systems by establishing and enforcing policies, and defining and monitoring access * Report network operational status by gathering and prioritising information and managing projects * Upgrade data network equipment to the latest stable firmware releases and optimise the network capabilities at the most effective way * Capacity management and audit of IP addressing and hosted devices within data centres * Liaise with project teams, regional and service desk engineers on a regular basis Continual Service Improvement * Design and implementation of new solutions and improving resilience of the current technology environment * Working together with the IT Manager, develop overall IT service management strategy and budget * Lead and manage large and complex IT projects, collaborating closely with other technical team and Business partners - ensure proper project monitoring to deliver on time and within budget * Ensure the team stays motivated, helps resolve conflicts and able to make timely decisions as needed to keep the project on-track Others * Be flexible and adaptable to change as the Company may require, from time to time, for you to attend to tasks - other than those described above but within your capabilities and skill sets, to meet the reasonable needs of the business.
