Job Description

Based at the Solihull site the Systems Chemical Clean Technician will be responsible for the chemical cleaning of fully conforming components and assemblies to a prescribed, efficient and timely cleaning method. Working as part of a team this role will optimise detailed cleaning methods in conjunction with the Manufacturing Engineers/NPI Engineers. + Complete detailed visual inspection on piece part components prior to assembly clean. + To correctly enact Chemical Cleaning procedures as specified + Support the team leaders and supervisors in meeting the departmental and site objectives. + To ensure that the processing of components through the chemical cleaning areas within Waters Solihull are controlled in line with the business demands (as directed). + Ensure materials used within the chemical cleaning area are effectively managed and re stocking order requests are raised in accordance with demand. + Ensure that waste product is disposed of in line with current legislation. + Ensure equipment / tools used are within calibration. + To ensure accurate booking to production orders within SAP. + In conjunction with the team leader/supervisors adopt lean manufacturing and continuous improvement opportunities to optimise productivity: + Minimise change over and set up times + Actively pursue elimination of scrap & rework costs + Ensure efficient and effective use of chemical materials avoiding waste + Assist in the development and operation of manufacture to cost + Project a flexible, proactive approach, coupled with the willingness to ensure outputs are achieved - working overtime and shifts as required + Maintain the effectiveness of the Quality system at the sites via adherence to applicable policies and procedures + Complete Quality System related actions in a timely manner according to procedures e.g. CAPA, NCR + Adhere to Environmental, Health and Safety policies and procedures. Education: + Apprentice trained, HND, HNC in an Engineering discipline or equivalent proven experience Experience: + Experience in chemical cleaning, advantageous. + Experience of working in a lean manufacturing, production facility, advantageous. Competencies + Must be able to work independently and communicate with all levels of the organisation. + Highly numerate team player with the ability to work to high standards and exacting targets + Operation of chemical clean equipment advantageous + Capable of multi-tasking and with high levels of attention to detail for both cleaning and documentation.
