Job ID: 41515 City: Solihull State: England Country: United Kingdom Category: Corporate Careers, Information Technology, Systems Job Type: Full-time Description: We have an exciting opportunity for a Digital Technology (DT) Systems and Cloud Technical Projects Manager to work on large Infrastructure projects in EMEA. As a Collins Systems & Cloud Engineer, you'll be a key contributor to our digital transformation by driving our strategy in EMEA to consolidate our infrastructure in Central DataCenters and Cloud Providers (IaaS). Tightly integrated with our global digital product teams and the enterprise architecture function, you will be responsible for designing, building and transitioning to operations all technical aspects of our systems hosted in our EMEA DataCenters and our Cloud service offering. This includes the approach, architecture, analysis, technologies, cost and execution. You will work with and integrate technologies including IaaS, PaaS, SaaS and cloud management and automation tools in support of our digital strategies. You will need to be flexible and adaptable to be able to manage the technical element of multiple high-profile projects within our aerospace companies. This will involve working within a small team in EMEA, using our suppliers and central teams, to manage projects for a set of small to very large secure IT sites. This position will offer challenges and the chance to work with a set of fantastic teams both in EMEA, APAC and the US. Minimum 10 years of increasingly responsible experience, including operational and projects experience, successfully delivering various projects. Outstanding grasp of information technology concepts and processes. Demonstrated aptitude for effective leadership of staff. Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred. Essential Functions: + Will own the projects from start to end. Lead planning and/or implementation of projects. Will participate in the design and/or testing phases. + Define / Adapt / Refine architecture considerations to include scalability, availability, security and performance ensuring compliance with all relevant requirements (IT, ITC, legal) + Support and facilitate the adoption and expansion of cloud technologies, providing most appropriate on-premises and / or cloud architecture per customer/application requirements + Will follow a defined, agreed upon project management methodology (ACE / Passport). + Will present oral and written reports defining plans, problems, and resolutions to appropriate levels of management. + Implement and run operational governance mechanisms to ensure performance issues are understood and appropriate solutions are implemented + Ensure compliance with Collins Aerospace EHS and Ethical Policies and with Federal, State and local laws Requirements: Strong IT / DT Operational Infrastructure and Cloud Project Management experience in a manufacturing environment. Typically, 10+ years in increasing responsible IT / DT leadership role; managing several projects at a time, involving others. Demonstrated communication effectiveness, and good project management discipline. Ability to foster trusting relationships with colleagues, internal customers and suppliers. Knowledge, Skills & Expertise + Technical Breadth: Quickly learn, understand, and articulate various technologies available to solve business problems; demonstrate a wide variety of technical solutions + Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Infrastructure platform + Experience with advanced IT technologies: Cloud computing (Private/Public/Hybrid), virtualization, storage platforms, software defined networks, Linux & Microsoft platform technologies and orchestration tools such as Ansible / Puppet / Chef + Strong and tested project management skills, including risk management Critical Thinking & Problem-Solving + Recognition of problems or situations that are new or without clear precedent. Will evaluate alternatives and find solutions using a systematic, multi-step approach. + Development of improvements and innovations to enhance performance.
