Signalling Senior / Principal Design Engineers - London We are looking to recruit high calibre Senior & Principal Signalling Design Engineers, with CRE and UK rail experience, to be engaged upon a portfolio of rail signalling Design schemes. We have an enviable reputation in the delivery of some of the UK's most prestigious and challenging schemes and we are currently working on behalf of Network Rail, Rail Operating Companies, TFL and Contractors throughout the UK on Grip 2 to 8 stages of major infrastructure projects and frameworks, designing and engineering complex technical solutions to meet / exceed our client's needs. Requirements Minimum Academic Qualifications / Affiliations: Electrical Engineering Degree or equivalent Member of the IET, IRSE or other recognised professional body. Hold or demonstrate they are working towards IRSE Design Engineer or Engineering Manager Design licence. Essential Experience: Fully conversant with GRIP process, Railway Group Standards, Network Rail and or London Underground Company Standards and CDM Regulations A good understanding of Network Rail and or London Underground signalling assets and project lifecycle on multidiscipline railway projects Technically competent to undertake technical approvals of signalling designs and its associated design submissions including IDC/IDR process A good knowledge of SSI, CBTC, or ETCS and other digital Signalling systems and their implementation and interfaces with existing signalling and rail system disciplines. A good knowledge of other rail disciplines, and how their work interfaces with signalling engineering. Proven track record on a range of technically complex, varied and successful projects. Experience of working to RAMS (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability and Safety) requirements. Provide project management advice in respect of all construction activities, including testing and commissioning and site supervision. Manage so that the design and/or construction elements of relevant projects meet the requirements of current legislation, including construction design management (CDM) regulations. Monitor specific projects so that they are engineered to the standards and specifications of Network Rail or other clients, allocated design and construction contracts include reference to and are compliant with appropriate Railway Group and Network Rail Company or other client company standards, formal specifications and procedures. Manage all engineering activities so that they result in schemes that are affordable and meet programme requirements in a safe and environmentally responsible manner for time, cost and quality. Maintain the use of relevant techniques and procedures of quantified and qualitative risk assessment and HAZOP analysis to allocated projects and manage the environmental aspects of allocated projects in accordance with Network Rail's environmental policy. Monitor design and specialist consultants and contractors. Able to write logical, readable and grammatically sound design documents, such as technical reports and remits. Duties & Responsibilities Reporting to the Signalling leads, you will provide technical support into assigned projects and tender bids ensuring successful delivery of signalling designs within a rail environment. You will be responsible for assisting in the delivery of project-related tasks to meet budget, time-frame and quality targets, meeting or exceeding client expectations, promoting and marketing all facets of Arcadis' services during interfaces with clients and other sectors and disciplines, contributing towards the achievement of the divisional business plan and to build networks within the industry.
