Job Description

Are you a current Go-Ahead London driver who is approaching retirement but don't want to give up entirely? Or perhaps you are already retired but feel you miss the driving but don't want to work such long hours? We are currently recruiting experienced bus drivers to join our Commercial Rail team. This is a completely flexible driving role which involves working mainly on rail replacement services at the weekends. There is also opportunity to diversify onto contract work such as Battersea Power Station; Events driving such as Wimbledon and Hampton Court, or you may prefer to remain on standard TfL work, but only working a couple of days a week. You will report directly to the Commercial Operations Manager where you will inform her of your availability and your preferred garage locations. Having the ability to be self-sufficient in the use of e-mail and web-based systems is key as this is the method by which work is allocated and posted. In return we are offering 17.00 per hour which includes 1.83 per hour in lieu of accruing holiday entitlement. This means the holiday you accrue will be paid within your hourly rate on a pay as you work basis. There are no weekly minimum work/hours guarantee. However, all duties worked will be paid sign on to sign off (inclusive of meal reliefs) with a minimum shift payment of 5h30. You must be prepared to commit to working a minimum 20 days per year. All licence medicals and on-going CPC training will be included (but time spent attending a CPC course is not paid), as well as a company uniform. Given the nature of the work you will not be eligible for any staff travel concessions.
