Global HR Compliance & Risk Management Lead

Job Description
The Global HR Compliance & Risk Management Lead is a newly created role at VMware. This individual will partner across global HR & Legal teams (e.g. Employment Legal, Privacy, etc.) to ensure VMware's HR organizational commitments to regulatory requirements, both global and local, are met. This individual will represent HR on risk related matters in coordination with HR leadership and Legal based on current regulatory landscape and anticipated changes. You will also work to innovate and improve the supporting processes and governance frameworks. **Responsibilities** + Partner with key stakeholders to develop a Global HR Compliance and Risk Management strategy and ensure alignment with organization strategy + Develop a comprehensive Global HR Compliance and Risk Management program providing a framework that enables shared understanding of risk, compliance, and trade-offs for decision making. + Work in collaboration with various HR teams to build out a global governance framework + Create and maintain a Global HR Risk Register + Partner with HR and Legal teams to assess risk and prioritize items to address. + Analyze data/information/options and critically assess risk to formulate strong proposals for projects, programs, initiatives, budgets, resources, etc. and advocate to HR Leadership and HR PMO + Develop and manage projects and programs for risk remediation, working closely to manage other stakeholder groups and resources through program delivery/execution to reduce overall risk to the business + Provide subject matter expert input on HR process improvement and system change activities, to ensure risk and compliance considerations are addressed. + Develop standard internal metrics to convey trends and opportunities related to Risk and Compliance across HR. + Regular reporting to the HR leadership team on HR compliance and risk matters; highlighting risks, penalties and action plans of open items. + Monitor and facilitate the implementation of effective risk management practices. + Partner with leadership to drive awareness, education and clear roles and responsibilities for risk management and HR compliance across the HR organization. + Interpret and apply HR policies, guidance, procedures and programs, ensuring consistent application while working with HR partners to provide solutions that consider business and employee needs + HR primary contact for Privacy Office regarding HR adherence to global data privacy regulations and company policy, i.e. GDPR. **Experience** + Experience leading HR Compliance efforts for large multinational company + Proven experience implementing risk rating methodology + Appreciation for the challenges in different geographies and ability to develop strategies that are global taking local nuances into consideration + Strong analytical and operational background as well as interpersonal and project management skills + Experience using data and analytics to inform programmatic activities and strategies + Strong communication skills with ability to build successful partnerships and effectively educate and influence at all levels + Ability to think ahead and anticipate issues before they arise + Self-directed, organized and capable of handling multiple, complex projects + Experience with GDPR or other privacy laws is a plus **Category :** HR **Subcategory:** HR **Experience:** Business Leadership **Full Time/ Part Time:** Full Time **Work From Home:** No **Posted Date:** 2020-04-07 VMware Company Overview: At VMware, we believe that software has the power to unlock new opportunities for people and our planet.
