14219BR Title: Principal Systems Engineer Job Description: Job Description Requirements: QuEST are hiring, permanent and contract engineers, from Senior engineer through Principal engineer level for the following Systems Engineering requirements: + ECM Avionic System Concepts, Requirements & Integration - Principal Engineer + A strong understanding of systems engineering principles and highly experienced in whole lifecycle product development and delivery. + A firm understanding of the key principles associated with RF signal propagation for passive sensors or active emitters. + Ability to define and influence requirements definition and design decisions, both within the internal project team and customer environments. + Ability to define test and acceptance criteria and assess system design compliance against user and system requirements. + High proficiency in requirements management using DOORS. + Self-motivated with a strong aptitude for problem-solving and decision-making within projects involving design complexity and uncertainty. + Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation ability. + Undergraduate Engineering degree or related scientific discipline. + In-depth knowledge of passive and active RF sensor systems, including signal processing methods for detection, measurement and identification. + High proficiency in mathematical modelling using MATLAB and Simulink + ES Avionic System Concepts - Principal & Senior engineers + Proficiency in requirements definition, traceability, and evidence-based compliance using DOORS. + Ability to define test and acceptance criteria and assess system design compliance against user and system requirements. + An understanding of the key principles associated with RF signal propagation for passive sensors or active emitters. + Self-motivated with an aptitude for problem-solving and decision-making within projects involving design complexity and uncertainty. + Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation ability. + Undergraduate Engineering degree or related scientific discipline. + Knowledge of passive and active RF sensor systems, including signal processing methods for detection, measurement and identification. + Proficiency in mathematical modelling using MATLAB and Simulink + Systems Engineer Airborne ES & ECM Architecture Design - Principal Engineer + High proficiency in mathematical modelling using tools such as MATLAB and Simulink. + Comprehensive understanding of airborne radar systems + Good understanding of beamforming techniques would be advantageous. + Strong numerical and analytical ability. + Ability to cope with a high degree of design complexity and significant levels of uncertainty. + Knowledge of EW technology, performance, operational capabilities, and use (DAS, EO / IR, Radar, Comms) + Extensive experience of stakeholder interaction with customers and industrial partners. + Excellent written and verbal presentation ability. + Knowledge of architecture frameworks (e.g. SysML) tools (e.g. Enterprise Architect / Rhapsody) and requirements management methods and tools (e.g. DOORS). + Systems Engineer EW System Concepts, Requirements & Design - Senior Engineer + Supporting the definition, design and development of an advanced EW system to perform (i) passive and active surveillance, and (Ii) countermeasures to mitigate posed threats to the platform. + Definition of requirements for the overall EW system and its subsystem elements. + Liaise with design specialists to develop candidate concepts and architectures. + Perform systems functional analysis and refine architectures for receiver and transmitter systems. + Develop design specifications suitable to inform and guide implementation teams. + Use modelling to explore the design space and perform system analysis and trade-off studies. + Produce technical reports of key findings and recommendations for delivery to customers & industry partners. + Travel within the UK to meet with our customers and industry partners. + A strong foundation in systems engineering principles and experience of early life-cycle system development. + Experience in writing and interpreting requirements specifications and designing test procedures. + Knowledge of EW technology, performance, operational capabilities, and use (particularly RF systems). + Proficiency in the use of mathematical modelling tools such as MATLAB and Simulink. + Excellent written and verbal presentation ability. + Knowledge of architecture frameworks (e.g. SysML) tools (e.g. Enterprise Architect / Rhapsody) and requirements management methods and tools (e.g. DOORS). + Systems Engineer EW Digital receiver - Principal Engineer + A strong foundation in systems engineering principles. + Experience with digital receivers and/or software defined radios. + Knowledge of some or all of the following: RF, digital, FPGA, DSP, embedded software systems. + Experience in writing and interpreting requirements specifications and designing tes
