Our UK Rail Team continues to add to their impressive list of project awards and recent successes have seen them secure some of the UK's most high profile, complex and stimulating projects to complement their existing portfolio of works. The current schemes are diverse and technically complicated and include Crossrail 2, Crossrail West Station Upgrades, London Underground Step Free Access, Barking Riverside Extension and Old Oak Common system design. We are also named frameworks contractor in Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wessex, Anglia regions with more to come. Representing approximately 16% of our global business, the railway sector is one of Arcadis core markets, a position it has held throughout our 150-year history. We have an enviable reputation for delivery of some of the UK's, and indeed the World's, most prestigious and challenging schemes. As a result of this continuing success, we are now keen to significantly grow our Rail Teams, specifically to prepare for the up-coming evolution of Britain Railway in term of Digital Railway. Requirements: Key Qualifications / Experience Requirements: BEng or BSc Degree or higher in a Telecommunication / Systems Engineering related subject HND in Electrical and Electronic Engineering / Telecommunications. Essential Experience: Fully conversant with GRIP process, Railway Group Standards, Network Rail and or London Underground Company Standards and CDM Regulations A good understanding of Network Rail and or London Underground Telecoms assets and project lifecycle on multidiscipline railway projects Technically competent to undertake engineering design, managing design team and ability to adapt to quick changes in design. Understand cross discipline interfaces and be able to manage design assurance including technical review, attending IDC/IDR. A good knowledge of following systems subsystem with proven track records of system design through technically complex, varied and successful project. Trackside equipment Copper and fibre cabling Immunisation against EMI Lineside Telephones and Concentrator System Fixed Telecommunications Network (FTN and FTNx) Multiprotocol Label Switching Networks (MPLS) Radio systems in UK Rail operations (GSM-R primarily) Station and Building network infrastructure - Structured Cabling infrastructure - Copper and fibre optic Internet Protocol Closed Circuit Television (IP-CCTV) Systems EN54 Public Address and Voice Alarm Systems Integrated Station / Building Management Systems (ISMS, IBMS) Customer Information Systems (CIS) IP based Access Control Systems Multi-mode Intruder Detection Systems Wireless Network Architecture UPS System Experience in the use of Computer Aided Design Packages (Micro station). Strong collaborative behaviours to interface with internal and external stakeholders / clients Willing to travel and work at various locations within the UK, which may include unsocial hours on an occasional basis Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to: Implement Network Rail or London Underground applicable standards to telecoms systems and procedures, to maintain a cost effective, high quality, safe and environmentally responsible approach to signalling design, construction, commissioning and other technical activities on relevant projects, compliant with all relevant legislation. Liaise with regulators and others as appropriate. Monitor specific projects design development, so that they are engineered to the client's signal engineering standards and specifications, allocated design and construction contracts include reference to and are compliant with appropriate Railway Group and Network Rail Company or other client company standards, formal specifications and procedures. Manage all signal engineering activities so tha
