Job Overview and Responsibilities The incumbent is responsible for leading improvement efforts across the GBU (Global Business Unit) with specific emphasis on Quality systems and data integrity. This may include technical and project management support to improve systems impacting Customer Satisfaction levels, cost of poor quality and minimize quality risks that could result in lost revenue, high consequence quality escapes or negative impact to Solvay reputation. The incumbent will interact with multiple disciplines/functions within the GBU to lead improvement activities including streamlining systems, digitalization and support to new and legacy QMS (Quality Management), inspection and instrumentation systems including a LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System). This individual will streamline Quality KPI metrics generation and ensure its data integrity. The incumbent may also lead RCCA investigations, quality audits and provide support as assigned. The incumbent will: Collaborate with various GBU Directors to identify quality improvement opportunities, Provide project management leadership to drive these improvement efforts and communicate as required, Establish tools and techniques for systematic generation of Quality KPI metrics and data to drive improvement opportunities, Lead projects designed to drive digitalization of legacy process and automation of quality systems, Work to streamline process and procedural workflows within a QMS, Actively lead and participate in quality risk assessments and audits. Ensure timely, effective address of findings Position will handle ITAR and NIST controlled documentation along with Customer proprietary information. Education and Experience Required Education/Experience BS in Engineering with an ideal focus in Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with IT background preferred (information systems) 5 years minimum working knowledge as a Quality, Manufacturing or Process Engineer within an Aerospace environment or other highly regulated industry (pharmaceutical or food - FDA; automotive - TS 16949) Working knowledge of relational data base systems, programming, architecture and security Due to ITAR regulations, must be a US citizen or have Permanent Resident status. Knowledge of Six Sigma tools - both lean and technical - including value stream mapping, 5S, process control and Measurement System Analysis or Gauge R&R Good computer skills including Google docs, MS Office, Statistical software (SAS, Minitab, JMP, etc.) and report writing such as Web-reports and Crystal Reports Demonstrated experience in data analysis - statistical and inductive/deductive reasoning English as a primary language Skills Required Core Competencies Good personnel engagement skills Good oral and written communication skills - concise presentation, easy to read and understand standards and technical documents Possess strong, pro-active leadership and project management skills to achieve results We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
