Job Description

**Role Summary:** To deliver the platform for the GE HVDC Control System, the candidate will work in a team to bring together the complex and technically advanced systems incorporating hardware and software systems. The primary focus for the role is on developing and maintaining the Verification and Validation activities for Control System Development Team. **Essential Responsibilities:** + Architect Verification and Validation framework for Control System testing. + Translate Hardware and Software requirements into a test specification and actions. + Work with product owners across the businesses to understand needs & vision. + Work with internal and external customers to understand business and technical needs. + Specify and develop Test strategy and future roadmap. + Share testing strategy knowledge within the group. + Further develop automation techniques. + Support in Software Release process. **Qualifications/Requirements:** + Degree Qualified in an Engineering Discipline ideally with a software content Significant proven experience in embedded real-time system Verification and Validate or equivalent knowledge or experience + Thorough understanding of Hardware and Software requirements for verification of Real-Time Systems. + Board level Signal Processing and its analysis (FPGA/DSP/PCB/Backplane). + Understanding of System and Signal level timings. + Ethernet protocol analysis. + Strong knowledge and working experience with Digital Signal Processing Systems + Troubleshooting the electronics issues with PCBs, Power supplies, High speed Backplanes/Communication links. + Exceptional troubleshooting skills for Embedded software/firmware. + Ability to understand the firmware designs for FPGA/Microcontrollers. + Good System-Thinking, together with Systematic problem-solving methods. + Experience with Network communication and its debugging. + Physical test harness setup and maintenance. + Successful collaboration with cross functional teams including work with product management function and driving agile best practices + Experience of Test-Driven Design techniques (e.g. Continuous Integration, Unit Testing, automated regression testing) + Professional experience in scripting development.Applications from job seekers who require sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications.
