**Role Summary:** The role will report to the HVDC Controls Software Engineering Leader, working in alignment with other engineering leads. We have development centers in Stafford, UK & Noida, India and the candidate needs to ensure collaboration across both of our development center's and to drive to the maturity of both parts of our organization. Communication and status reporting will be essential to build a strong one team culture. **Essential Responsibilities:** + Lead the Verification & Validation activities across a large engineering team of and manage the teams ensuring performance against goals, standards, annual objectives. + Ensures that process, policies and procedures are defined and adhered to. + Involved from the requirements phase ensuring requirements are SMART and testable + Full software development lifecycle test management + Development of Integration System Tests, Full System Tests and Factory Acceptance Test plans and procedures. + Development and communication of test progress reporting S-Curves + Test Management Plans & Solutions + Enforcement of engineering disciplines and set processes across all work tasks and adherence to company policies, quality procedures and work instructions (e.g. through training, technical reviews) + Reviewing the validation and verification team's skills, identifying any shortfalls or skills gaps to ensure the necessary training, guidance and mentoring of Engineers is in place. + Sets an example and actively observes performance against measurable criteria. + Providing constructive feedback where appropriate. + Provide immediate feedback and seek to correct behaviours of the team that do not foster a good culture or contribute towards unsafe behaviour or bad practices that jeopardize our achievements. **Qualifications/Requirements:** + Essential demonstrable Team Leadership experience + Essential experience of Test Management Systems + Essential Experience within Software Development Organisation + Desirable HVDC Controls Systems Knowledge, but not essential other types of controls systems awareness is applicable. (Testing of embedded systems, VxWorks based systems, communication protocols, MATLAB Simulink) + Knowledge of Software Build Management (Jenkins, Bamboo) + Knowledge of Configuration Management (Git, SVN) + Awareness Software development and software project delivery processes + Knowledge of Agile development practices (e.g. Certified Scrum Master) + Knowledge of Test Driven Design techniques (e.g. CI/Continuous Integration, Unit Testing, Automated Regression testing) + Knowledge of Requirements Management; Requirements Capture, RQM tools, Doors + Knowledge of Change Control and issue tracking (e.g. CCB, Jira) + Knowledge of Release Management and associated procedures; testing and notes, version control etcApplications from job seekers who require sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications.
