Job Description
Job Title : Vendor Governance & Risk Specialist (End User Computing - EUC) Location : Birmingham Division : The End User Computing (EUC) function brings the digital workplace to life for the bank. Our product and support teams provide front-to-back accountability for all products and services required to accomplish the daily workload of every employee in the bank. Function : EUC has a number of external vendors who provide a service to the bank related to End User Computing. By onboarding a vendor, the business is bringing the inherent risks associated with the services they procure or manage into the bank. Being a global bank we face numerous regulatory bodies who enforce strict supervisory standards on financial institutions. They require us to have an efficient and robust Vendor Risk Management framework and effective ongoing vendor governance. The Vendor Risk Management (VRM) process brings together various teams to identify, assess, manage and monitor these risks. To protect the bank, the VRM process is done with high standards in accordance with regulatory demands. Role : The role is within the Risk team in EUC and is responsible for delivering specific aspects of the Vendor Governance and Risk strategy. This includes monitoring Vendor and Technology risks and reporting of key issues and performing ongoing vendor performance monitoring. Each vendor has an SRO, (Service Relationship Owner) who is accountable for the service relationship and risks and this role will support the "SRO" in the capacity of "SRO Delegate" by driving the Vendor Risk Management process. EUC has technology towers of Desktop, Mobility, Print, Email, Real Time Communications and Customer Service. In this role you will partner closely with these Technology Towers and liaise with vendors, and internal teams (Global Vendor Governance, Third Party Management and other risk and control functions). The role will give you an excellent opportunity to further develop your Vendor Governance and Technology Risk Management skills in a critical area of the bank. Your key responsibilities * Responsibility for ensuring consistent processes are established, implemented and monitored to manage vendors. Develop full knowledge of service level agreements (SLAs) and metrics defined in the vendor contracts (s). Ensure that performance metrics are in place and tracked to ensure adherence * Performing the role of Service Relationship Owner Delegate (SRO-D) for the vendors of EUC in coordination with SRO, internal risk teams and vendor contacts. * Partner with EUC Technology Towers and Non Financial Risk management / Risk Type Controllers (RTC) to coordinate the Vendor Risk & Control assessments and ongoing activities. The activities cover multiple risk areas that are assessed as part of a vendor engagement. * Coordinate and manage the Vendor Governance forums / Service Delivery management processes in coordination with the SRO/ Technology Tower Leads. * Responding accurately to information requests by effectively coordinating with the vendor contacts and internal teams. Accurate information is key as it will enable the bank to assess and manage the risks of the service relationship in an effective manner. * Oversight and management of Vendor and Technology Risk Log reviews, Risk remediation monitoring and other ad hoc control initiatives and projects. Implement and completes mitigation plans as agreed with RTC regarding risks in the "Control Assessment" stage * Managing regulatory responses / internal outsourcing committee related to Vendor assessments. Numerous regulators and counterparties assess the bank's IT security set up and the responses need to be provided in coordination with the Technology Tower areas in a timely way. * Actively suggest improvements and efficiencies that benefit the end user community and improve the overall vendor governance and risk processes. Your skills and experience * Essential : Experience of working in a Vendor Governance or a Risk Function in a Technology Department. * Essential : Quick learner / Self starter. As the Vendor Risk Management / Governance process in the bank is being revamped the individual will need to be a self starter / able to learn via online resources / trainings. * Essential : The ability to effectively work with business users, developers and other technology colleagues outside of your direct team, across a broad range of business functions and at all levels of the organization * Essential : Excellent knowledge of MS Excel and MS Powerpoint. * Essential : "Can do", positive attitude & willingness to le
