Job location: Manchester, (M17 1PA) Cargill's starches & sweeteners plant in Manchester is a production facility at the hub of the UK food and beverage industry. The plant and offices are part of the Cargill's food ingredients & applications business and produces sweeteners and wheat proteins for food customers. These include customers in the confectionery, brewing, beverage, dairy and bakery sectors. This position is an excellent opportunity for an emerging Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Engineer to join an experienced Maintenance and Engineering team with responsibilities across the Manchester site. This will be a varied position working on both individual projects (for example HV Switching or programme writing) and as a tag to large projects (for example we are about to redesign and upgrade our HV Electrical network across the site). You will also support Maintenance & Reliability activities to sustain a reliability excellence culture and maintain the operational level of the installed base. The successful candidate will be involved in an on-going training and development plan resulting in certified qualifications and the opportunity to develop a career with a global manufacturing business. Major Tasks: * Development and implementation of the Electrical part for new CAPEX projects through assisting with feasibility studies, 'as is' assessment and functional requirements * Improve Maintenance & Reliability and execute functional improvements through the implementation of best practices and execute changes according to documented management of change process * Manage and maintain operational level of the installed base through technical support for troubleshooting, predictive and preventative maintenance and call out support * Close collaboration with Plant IT/Automation organization Qualifications: * University Bachelor/ Master's degree in Electrical Engineering (Electrical & Control Engineering) * Preferably some operational experience (i.e. Student Placement) - up to 2/3 years work experience * Fluent in English (verbal & written) with excellent communication skills * Knowledge of related IT systems (e.g. DCS systems) * Demonstrated natural leadership ability * Self-starter; highly motivated and able to work independently * Teamwork; ability to work in a multi-cultural and cross-functional team with a global mindset * Fast learning and self-development: curiosity to learn * High energy levels. Action oriented.
