We are experiencing double digit growth and we are now looking to add to this team with a passionate Senior Controls Lead Engineer at the top of their game, looking to join a business with passion and energy to help our realise our business potential. To support the Head of Control Engineering Manager in the promotion of consistent delivery of controls solutions for automated materials handling systems, on time, on budget and to a high quality. By providing technical guidance, mentorship and development to the team members for the delivery of all projects and promoting consistent standards and continuous improvement within the team. Specific Responsibilities + To support the team to deliver consistent design, implementation and commissioning of materials handling control system solutions. + The reviewing, checking and approval of documents originating from the department. (i.e drawings, calculations, requisitions, expenses, time sheets etc.) + To encourage and support the development and maintenance of electrical design, software and installation standards to be used across multiple projects focus on adoption of best practice and design re-use. + The promotion of a value engineering approach to ensure cost efficient solutions are designed that achieve company goals for profit; service and support. + To liaise with Company product centres and key suppliers at a technical level to ensure full product understanding and correct application. + To support Engineers to meet project budgets and deadlines; through regular review and mentoring. + To resolve design warranty issues and improve and implement changes to existing standards. + Reviewing and confirmation of project design hours estimates (in consultation with the Engineering Manager). + To ensure in-house testing strategy is implemented on all projects. + To assist in development of standard blocks and solutions. + To produce required Health and Safety documentation including, but not limited to Method Statements and Risk Assessments + To commission controls systems on site and to provide support to system commissioning activities as required. + To ensure the delivery of the controls design and commissioning is in line with the engineering process and procedures on all IS projects + To lead a approach to continuous process improvements in efficiency of the department + Ensure a close working relationship between the IS and SE controls engineering teams and promote a positive approach to the transfer of information + To assist the Head of Control with the allocation of controls resources to execute departmental workload and the forecasting of future resource demands + To promote a positive Health and Safety culture + To lead by example and promote a professional working culture General Responsibilities + Produce material flow specifications for projects as required + Design, production and test of control system electrical design and software + Liaise with Project Sales and Project Engineers during project phase + Liaise with Project Managers, Customer and sub-contractors during order execution phase + Liaise with purchase departments + Provide technical information to any department so entitled, i.e. Mechanical Design, Projects Sales, Service, Spares + Where necessary, develop special and new standard solutions in conjunction with Quality Standards to suit specific projects and new markets + Innovate wherever possible to improve our delivered product to the end customer (e.g. reduced price, reduced time-scale, improved functionality) + Maintain accurate and up to date departmental design information and project records + Ensure that standard designs are optimised in terms of price and performance to ensure maximum competitive advantage for the Company + Promote a positi
