You will be working out of our Rugby Hub , the role of our Transport Shift Manager is to assist in the management and performance of the shift operation, covering all days of the week within rota patterns. You will be responsible for managing a team of Transport Supervisors and drivers, driving their development and the continuous improvement of the Transport operation, delivering great service at optimal cost. About the Role: Reporting in to your Transport Operations Manager you will ensure the Transport Supervisors work effectively and in a timely manner to despatch and conduct effective driver debriefs. Our Transport Shift Manager role comes with a lot of responsibility as you will manage a Transport operation despatching 100,000 of Parcels per shift through our primary network in peak periods and up to c800 B2C collections weekly You will support the Transport Operations Manager to develop a peak plan in line with forecasted volumes and or changes in automation to meet financial and resourcing needs and promote a culture of accountability and drive consistency to ensure the delivery of excellent operational standards You must be able to lead by example in creating a high-performance people orientated culture/ employee engagement/ Carrying out regular individual 121's, performance reviews and team meetings with team Experience/Qualifications: * CPC National Qualification. * Good Maths and English skills written and verbal * PC Literate * Full current driving licence * Extensive knowledge and experience of operational processes and practices, particularly Transport operations * Proven ability to build business knowledge and translate into working practices and procedures * Must be able to work on own initiative in a pressurised environment * Be able to use internal systems, e.g. Isotrak, TMS and Tachomaster * Strong analytical skills * Experience of leading a high performing team * Motivational Leader, supporting staff to self-develop * Influencing through data Responsibilities: * Accountable for H&S and quality audits including risk assessments and safe systems of work in the Hub * Standing in for the Transport Operational Managers if needed with meetings/annual leave * Responsible for overall shift performance, compliance, client service levels, health and safety, employee engagement. * Accountable for sending detailed shift reports, root causing failed KPI's supported evidence and an action plan to improve * Must have strong analytical skills, be data driven and use data to influence, challenge and drive performance and compliance Benefits: * Bonus * 26 Days Holiday entitlement + Bank Holidays * Opt in benefits "To all recruitment agencies: Hermes does not accept agency resumes.
