Role Summary: Support field operations by providing technical assistance in relation to production chemistry, collecting and analysing samples and monitoring chemical applications Essential Responsibilities: + Frequently required to make independent decisions on acceptability of measured results, which determine the effectiveness of applied programs. + Chemical injection surveillance, including monitoring of chemical injection pumps, maintaining chemical pump function, inventory reporting and ordering. + Adjust chemical dosage rates and/or change chemical applications in order to meet customer defined objectives. + Chemical stock management and control + Sample collection and analysis including commercial and regulatory compliance samples + Reporting of analysis results to Account Managers for recommendation to the client. + Provide process optimisation support as required + Troubleshoot process upsets and provide guidance to offshore operations teams + Hazard identification and COSHH - support of site COSHH through specialist chemical knowledge + Produce daily status reports for the customer + Handle special projects, including trials of new chemical applications as assigned. + Member of Offshore Emergency Response Team + Conduct all business activities in accordance to Baker Hughes HSE policies and Legal Compliance requirements + Supports sales and service efforts to existing customer + Other ad-hoc duties and special projects as assigned + Experience of working in a chemical role, undertaking chemical testing + Experience of working in production chemicals/oilfield chemistry + Experience of providing chemical and quality analysis + Experience of working in an offshore field environment Qualifications/Requirements: + HNC qualified or equivalent (in Chemistry/Chemical Engineering or similar science would be beneficial) or equivalent + Skills in conducting chemical analysis and testing + Skills in monitoring and managing chemical stocks + Communication skills, both verbal and written + Organisational skills + Analytical and Problem solving skills + Report writing skills + Skills in the use of Microsoft Office packages, particularly excel + Ability to apply mathematical calculations to support tasks + Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a wider team + Ability to be flexible in order to fulfil requirements for customers as required + Skills in working within a highly HSE regulated environment + Ability to work whilst complying with all PPE requirements Desired Characteristics: + Skills in the use of Microsoft Office packages, particularly excel Locations: Aberdeen, UK This is your opportunity to learn more, do more, live the career you have imagined and be part of a truly diverse organization Baker Hughes, a GE company is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
